Employees at Glebe House made a wish come true for Pauline Cardy who hasn’t seen her husband for 8 months due to illness and previously living in another home too far for Mr Ted Cardy to travel due to his frailty. Pauline mentioned this to staff during Christmas week and staff jumped into action and the home manager went to visit Ted at his home to see if he was able to travel in a car, which he could. Ted wanted this to be a surprise and the manger picked him up on Christmas day and brought him to Glebe to be welcomed by Pauline who was ready in the lounge, as soon as they saw each other Pauline started clapping with excitement and were soon embracing each other and showing that love grew even stronger in their absence. They both just celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in September and this is the longest they have ever been apart. Tears were shared throughout the home, what a fabulous day.
