Today was Alan Dixey’s last day before retirement from Lancum House.
He’s been the maintenance person at Lancum House since March 2013, recognised for his 10 years long service earlier this year, and is retiring to Yorkshire.
Although he asked the staff not to make a fuss, we couldn’t help ourselves. Alysha and the team rallied together to give Alan a small send off. Knowing his love of walking, he received an inflatable walking frame to help him get around the National Trust sites which the staff have paid for a year’s membership for both him and his wife.
He’s been a real asset to Lancum House in his time, and will be truly missed.
