At Lancum House earlier in the week, we had prepared some Rangoli art work for our Diwali celebrations. Yesterday we visited Dementia Sings Out choir in the morning where we were entertained by Saryu Thakra, a Bollywood saxophonist and in the afternoon we had a talk from Mina about Diwali and how it is celebrated.
This was accompanied by more Bollywood music and dancing, Indian savoury snacks, and a demonstration of how to wear a sari. The residents were joined by family members and staff too. Everyone had a great day celebrating cultural diversity.
