The Hawthorns celebrated their coveted “Outstanding” CQC status in style with an esteemed set of well-wishers who share their pride in the service.
Mary Tasker, home manager at the Hawthorns and her team welcomed visitors to the home to celebrate with residents and their loved ones. In attendance were senior management and the chairman from Shaw, the mayor and his family, guests from the council, hospital teams and local GPs.
A first class buffet was provided courtesy of the kitchen staff which quickly disappeared. Favour boxes for visitors included handmade chocolates created by the kitchen staff; another nice touch that showed why the Hawthorns achieved their top rating. Musical entertainment was an interactive experience performed by Dampier’s Round, a local folk band and included all visitors joining in on their favourite songs using percussion instruments.
During a presentation of certificates to long serving employees there were some brief speeches where Mary said of the achievement: “This is all about the team. It’s not one person, it’s everything that everyone does and contributes”. A sentiment supported by Jeremy Nixey, CEO who commented: “What Mary and her team have achieved is amazing. They should all be as proud of themselves as we are of them. Congratulations and thank you for delivering the quality of care that anyone would want for their own loved ones.”
