Wylesfield

Yesterday we celebrated one of our residents 100th birthday here at Wylesfield.

Pauline came to live with us in Wylesfield September 2014.

She was surrounded by her family yesterday and they all enjoyed a tea party.

We had Holly come to provide the music, it was a lovely afternoon had by all!

Here at Wylesfield we have received a donation of £365 from Tesco in Llandrindod Wells. They have a second hand book shelf were people donate old books for people to buy, we were chosen along with a Children’s Nursery to share the money that was raised. They came to Wylesfield this morning to present the money and we are going to use the donation on some lovely gifts for our service users.

Well done to Colin Layton - 48 years service, semi retired but still as dedicated.

After 25 years of service at Wylesfield, Kim has retired. We want to wish her the best of luck in her retirement, everyone here will miss her so much.

Here at Wylesfield we all enjoyed a visit from Rhayader Male Voice Choir. What a lovely evening it was!

As a part of an ongoing link with Wylesfield Care Home in Llandrindod, members of the choir from the Llandrindod campus have been performing for the residents within the care home over the last two Thursdays. The performances have been greatly appreciated by the residents and the pupils have enjoyed their time with some of the more experienced members of our community. The choir will continue to attend on a weekly basis until March, when other activities will come to the fore.

Wylesfield in Powys has become one of the first in Wales to receive a new temporary 'visitor pod', thanks to funding from the Welsh Government.

Firefighters from Llandrindod Wells Fire Station sang happy birthday outside the care home in Powys to mark the 80th birthday of resident and former firefighter, Mike Jones.
